Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 10 oz dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 10 oz white vanilla melting wafers
  • Christmas sprinkles or crushed peppermint, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Crush the Oreos: Place Oreos in a food processor and pulse until they form fine crumbs. Alternatively, place Oreos in a zip-top plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin until finely ground.
  2. Mix with Cream Cheese: Add softened cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs and pulse in the food processor or mix by hand until a uniform, thick dough forms.
  3. Form Balls: Scoop the mixture into 1-inch balls, rolling each between your palms until smooth. Place the balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Chill the Dough Balls: Refrigerate the balls for 30 minutes to firm up, or freeze for 15 minutes for faster setting.
  5. Melt Dark Chocolate: Place dark chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl and melt in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Dip in Dark Chocolate: Dip half of the chilled Oreo balls into the melted dark chocolate, then immediately top with Christmas sprinkles or crushed peppermint. Place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Melt White Chocolate: Repeat the melting process for the white vanilla chocolate wafers in the microwave using 30-second increments, stirring until smooth.
  8. Dip in White Chocolate: Dip the remaining Oreo balls in the white chocolate coating, top with sprinkles, and return to the tray.
  9. Set the Coating: Chill all dipped Oreo balls in the refrigerator until the chocolate coating is set completely, about 20-30 minutes.
  10. Serve or Store: Serve chilled directly from the fridge, package in gift boxes, or arrange them attractively on a dessert board.

Notes

  • For easier cleanup, line your baking sheet with parchment paper before placing the Oreo balls.
  • If you don’t have a food processor, finely crush Oreos using a rolling pin inside a sealed plastic bag.
  • Chocolate melting wafers are preferred as they melt smoothly and harden with a shiny finish.
  • Store Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Experiment with different types of sprinkles or crushed nuts for variety.
