Ingredients

Scale

Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispie Treats

  • 5 cups Fruity Pebble cereal
  • 1/4 cup salted butter
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cereal and pan: Pour 5 cups of Fruity Pebble cereal into a large mixing bowl and set it aside. Lightly grease an 8×8-inch pan with nonstick spray or butter to prevent sticking.
  2. Melt butter and marshmallows: In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt 1/4 cup salted butter. Once melted, add 4 cups mini marshmallows and stir constantly until fully melted and smooth, about 3–5 minutes.
  3. Mix marshmallow mixture with cereal: Immediately pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the cereal. Stir thoroughly with a rubber spatula until the cereal is evenly coated.
  4. Transfer to pan and shape: Transfer the coated cereal mixture to the prepared 8×8-inch pan. Using wax or parchment paper, gently press the mixture evenly into the pan without pressing too hard to keep the treats light and chewy.
  5. Cool the treats: Allow the treats to cool completely at room temperature, about 20–30 minutes. For quicker cooling, place the pan in the refrigerator for about 5 minutes.
  6. Cut and serve: Once cooled, cut the treats into 9 squares and serve.

Notes

  • You can substitute salted butter with unsalted butter, but add a pinch of salt to balance the sweetness.
  • For a firmer texture, refrigerate the treats for longer before cutting.
  • Use wax or parchment paper to press down the mixture to prevent sticking and for easier clean-up.
  • These treats are best consumed within 2-3 days for optimal freshness.
