Air Fryer Apples Recipe

4.6 from 77 reviews

Deliciously tender and lightly caramelized air fryer apples, perfect as a healthy snack or a warm dessert topping. This simple recipe uses just a few ingredients and an air fryer to bring out the natural sweetness and cozy flavors of cinnamon and maple syrup.

Ingredients

Scale

Apples

  • 6 apples

Coating

  • 2 tsp vegetable oil

Topping

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Apples: Peel, core, and slice the apples into even pieces. Toss the slices with the vegetable oil to lightly coat them, ensuring they crisp up nicely during air frying.
  2. Arrange in Air Fryer: Place the apple slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding so air can circulate for even cooking.
  3. Air Fry the Apples: Cook the apples in the air fryer at 400°F (204°C) for approximately 14 minutes. The apples should become tender and start to brown slightly. There’s no need to stir or toss during cooking.
  4. Add Sweet Flavorings: Transfer the cooked apples to a bowl, then stir in the maple syrup, sugar, and cinnamon until the apple slices are evenly coated with the flavorful mixture.

Notes

  • Choose firm apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best texture.
  • Adjust cinnamon and sugar amounts to taste for a more or less sweet dish.
  • Serve warm as a healthy snack or as a topping for pancakes, oatmeal, or yogurt.
  • For added texture, sprinkle chopped nuts over the apples just before serving.
